[..YouTube..] Two things:
1. Do Mormons believe that the Trinity is God? that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three Persons, one in essence and undivided?
2. Do Mormons believe that the Son was made incarnate as Man (Jesus), taking upon himself flesh and human limitation without compromising his divinity, so he, being God, could die and thereby destroy Death?
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:27 pm
[..YouTube..] I appreciate Mormonism in the sense that they do have theology of theosis (deification) of humans, which is Christian.
However, Mormons understand it incorrectly. There is only one God, period. Humans do not become gods in essence, as Mormons teach, but gods by God’s grace, through taking on His will as our own. Humans become gods by partaking in God’s divinity (ie uncreated grace). It is not by our own inherent potential.
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:30 pm
[..YouTube..] I should clarify. When I say there is one God, I also mean there is only one divine essence. That is why humans cannot become gods in essence.
December 30th, 2009 at 4:07 am
[..YouTube..] ya we do. Please keep an open mind now..In reply to your comment down below, I think that we all can become Gods in the after life if we live righteously and show that our goal is to progress in a good way. Damnation means to not be able to progress. Life in the afterlife would be Hell if we couldn’t progress more.

[..YouTube..] Here’s an example; a while back I was wondering what I could give my dad for Christmas since he never tells us what he wants. I was sitting there thinking forever and finally I realized that the greatest gift I could give him would be to follow what he says and to try and become more like him. I believe in the next life we won’t be glorifying God by sounding trumpets, but we’ll be glorifying Him by trying to become like Him.
January 4th, 2010 at 2:55 pm
[..YouTube..] It’s hard to talk about these matters with 500 characters, lol.
Which of these is the Mormon belief (or closest to it):
1. Salvation is becoming god in essence. The result is a human who has become something else – god inherently, basically equal in “god-ness” with the Trinity.
2. Salvation is bringing one’s will perfectly into line with God’s. It is so perfect that the person, while forever human, is god by the grace of God, but remains forever a creature, not inherently god on his own.

What can you tell me about the Nicene Creed that many so blindly follow as their basis for the Trinity Theory? I can’t find 1 in 10 Christians who even know much about that creed made… and how oddly enough, they declared in this creed that there should be no more divine inspiration from God… but that they received that creed via “Divine Inspiration”
Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw seeing both God the Father and Jesus Christ.
The Godhead is no longer as dogmatic thx to that.
January 27th, 2010 at 4:29 pm
[..YouTube..] Where does the Creed say there is no more divine inspiration? The entire Church is under divine inspiration. All of Holy Tradition is divinely inspired.
The Ecumenical Councils and everything in them (including the Creed) are every bit as dogmatic as Scripture.
God cannot be divided against his One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. If the Holy Trinity did not exist in the way the Creed says, the Creed would say something different.
The nature of God is absolutely dogmatic.
January 27th, 2010 at 4:32 pm
[..YouTube..] Furthermore, how was Joseph Smith able to discern whether he was seeing demons or God? Since his teachings contradict that of the Apostles and their successors, the only teachings that can be legitimated, I would have a hard time believing God suddenly decided we had everything wrong.
No, Satan can appear as an angel of light (if not God himself). And he did to Joseph Smith, and thereby this false Christ deceived many.
January 27th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
[..YouTube..] It’s in the Bible right here:
1. The Father is God (2Thess 1:1): To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father…
2. Jesus is God (Col 2:9): For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily…
3. Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4): …filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit… You have not lied to men but to God
4. There is One God (1Tim 2:5): there is one God
5. The three are not the same Person (Matt 28:19): in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
January 27th, 2010 at 5:02 pm
[..YouTube..] 6. The Father begets the Son (Heb 1:5): You are my Son, today I have begotten you…
7. The Spirit proceeds from the Father (John 15:26): the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father

The Holy Trinity is clearly the God of the Bible. The Mormon godhead does not satisfactorily model all of these verses. (Mostly because Mormons are polytheists.)

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Rom. 11: 33
Truly there are many things about God that we as mere mortals would fail to understand… but we are the offspring of God. We are literal sons and daughters of heavenly parents.
This was made certain with the vision of the prophet Joseph Smith but mentioned many times in the scriptures; (Compare Luke 24:39)
January 27th, 2010 at 6:02 pm
[..YouTube..] How are we offspring of God? God is spirit, he has no body.
God only had a body after Jesus was incarnate (and not before). Jesus was celibate on Earth and in heaven there is no reproduction, so I fail to see how this works.
We are sons and daughters of God, but not in a literal reproductive sense. We are adopted into God’s family.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:13 pm

God has revealed through the living word of God that we are his offspring… and not just vagabonds trying to aspire to some kind of heavenly glory.
“For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and mans device. Acts 17:28-29 – And we should not! We should think of God as our literal father in heaven and not an idol.

[..YouTube..] @age234
“Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” Hebrews 12:9
We have two fathers.
An earthy father and a heavenly father.
One is the father of our bodies.
The other is the father of our Spirits…
I encourage you to ponder on this.
If God is the father of our spirits, as the scriptures say, then he can testify this thing to you through the power of the spirit.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:33 pm
[..YouTube..] That is flagrantly misconstrued. Yes, God is our Father. He is the cause of all things. But human spirits are not brought into existence through some kind of cosmic sexual encounter between God and some kind of “spirit mother”.

There is a reason why having a living prophet is useful to men on earth. Without them, men have to rely on their own understanding or private interpretation. Peter has counseled against private interpretation but how can we understand doctrine?
Isaiah suggests that only through prophets can we understand doctrine.
(See Isaiah 28:8-9) and yes, because of modern prophets, passages like the one I gave you is understood as that we have heavenly parents and we are their children.
January 27th, 2010 at 7:00 pm
[..YouTube..] Jesus Christ is the final revelation of God. There are no modern prophets because God has nothing more to reveal after he revealed himself in the flesh.
The “prophets” you cite are, to be pointed, heretics who are reviving ancient heresies that were stomped out over a thousand years ago.
I don’t rely on private interpretation, I rely on the teachings of the Church that have remained the same for the last ~1,975 years.

Jesus has two natures: divine (God the Son, 2nd person of the Trinity) and human (Jesus the man). They are present in one person. He is a hypostatic union of two complete natures.

Well, I’m sure that they don’t have kool-aid either. So, what does the fact that they don’t have basements have to do with anything? It was a reference to the Jim Jones massacre where he brainwashed a bunch of people to drink kool-aid laced with arsenic or cyanide “for Jesus.”
And, I’m pretty sure that, in context, Beck wasn’t making fun of anyone (much less anyone with a prejudice against the Mormon Church), but trying to convey exactly what I had originally stated.

[..YouTube..] @HectorXDelgado I answered the question, it was a JOKE playing on the IGNORANCE and PREJUDICE of BIGOTS. Your INABILITY to see that says a LOT about you!

[..YouTube..] “The doctor said the cord had tied around her ankle so tight it had completely cut off all circulation,” she said.
But her baby’s death had a silver lining.
Price said her grandmother, who had also lost a premature baby, held her baby after she was dressed and prepared by Share Utah volunteers.
June 18th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
[..YouTube..] “She said finally, after 56 years, she had gotten closure,” Price said, explaining that a half century ago, medical personnel did not provide opportunities for mothers of these babies to grieve. They just took them away.
“I was so grateful for Share to come up to the hospital and be a part of my life,” she said. “As hard as it is, we know it’s just going to keep happening.”

Name-calling must be a staple of Mormonism because that’s all I ever hear from you all. “Everyone who isn’t a Mormon is an anti-mormon, ignorant bigot who’s going to Hell.” And, yet, they never argue FOR their point, but always AGAINST anyone who sees the many irreconcilable problems with Mormonism (like there being absolutely no evidence for it).
YOUR unwillingness to get beyond that says a lot about YOU.
June 18th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
[..YouTube..] @HectorXDelgado so demanding that you OVERCOME your IGNORANCE and BIGOTRY makes me a name caller? You should be grateful that someone demands you become a worthwhile person instead of being so defensive!

June 18th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
[..YouTube..] SALT LAKE CITY 17 June 2010 Whether for seasoned researchers with years of experience or curious family history newcomers with simple questions about their ancestors, a new FamilySearch Library in Riverton, Utah, is making it easier and more convenient for south valley residents to look into the branches of their family tree. The new Riverton FamilySearch Library is a state-of-the-art family history research center equipped with a treasure trove of tools and resources.
June 18th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
[..YouTube..] The library replaces 24 smaller family history centers that had been operating in Latter-day Saint stake centers (meetinghouses) in the southern part of the Salt Lake Valley until earlier this year. Consolidating the smaller centers into a larger facility will enhance the experience of patrons significantly. In the new library, visitors will enjoy extended hours, broader research assistance and access to significantly more genealogical resources.

You’re demanding that I BECOME STUPID (I can’t become ignorant of the truth because I already know it, therefore I can only become stupid by rejecting the truth). Also, where does bigotry come into any of this? Encouraging Mormons to honestly examine the huge gaping flaws in their religion in hope that they will eventually come to know the REAL God, the REAL Jesus, and REAL Salvation? If that is “bigotry,” then I am guilty and not ashamed to be so (Romans 1:16-17; 1 Cor. 1:18).
June 18th, 2010 at 2:21 pm
[..YouTube..] @HectorXDelgado NOPE, if I wanted you to become STUPID, I would demand you stay the same! No matter what your pastor tells you, increase of KNOWLEDGE and TRUTH does NOT make you stupid.
June 18th, 2010 at 2:21 pm
[..YouTube..] In 1984, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir visited Toronto. At one part of the program, Choir members were asked to stand up if they had any Canadian ancestry. Approximately half of the choir stood up, to cheers and applause from the audience. In 1990, when the Toronto Ontario Temple was completed, the temple district included Palmyra and Kirtland, although the two locations are no longer within the district.

How presumptuous to assume that I haven’t studied Mormonism on my own and to think I blindly accept what someone else has told me to believe!
June 18th, 2010 at 3:25 pm
[..YouTube..] @HectorXDelgado
And, as much as I disagree with your assertion that I am stupid for knowing and obeying the TRUE God, the TRUE Jesus, and His TRUE word, I completely agree with you in that the increase of knowledge and truth does not make someone stupid. This is why I encourage you to study your own religion and see that it cannot possibly be the restored Church of Christ as found in the First Century and in the Bible, God’s Holy and ONLY Word.

[..YouTube..] During more than two hours of intense and sometimes skeptical questioning by Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, attorney Charles Cooper maintained that society is entitled to reserve its approval of marriage for those who can naturally conceive children.
June 19th, 2010 at 3:58 am
[..YouTube..] “The marital relationship is fundamental to the existence and survival of the race,” Cooper said in closing arguments before a packed San Francisco courtroom. The reason the state regulates marriage, he said, is to steer “procreative sexual relationships” into a stable family environment so that children can be raised by their biological parents.

Word for word, several times. I have a copy of the 1830 edition, a 1910 edition, and one that I got last year. I have studied and compared, highlighted and underlined each of them. I have even studied the D&C, TPoGP, the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible, and have read every volume of the Journals of Discources. Because I have personally examined each Mormon text and what early Mormon apostles and prophets taught about it, I can tell you that none of them are “from God.”
