[..YouTube..] If the LDS compared their current doctrine with their 1830 book of Mormon, they would see how much DOCTRINAL change the Book of Mormon has underwent. The book of Mormon even challenges that there is to be no changes in the text, so the first edition must stand forever. Well since 1830, that challenge has been met…here is one of the smaller errors look at I Nephi 11:18-21 in the 1830 version & compare it to the modern version. It says mary is the mother of God, & now it says mother of the Son.

you can tell it’s sacrament meeting because he is standing at the alter (or pulpit. whatever you want to call the area with the microphone -_-). the microphone is only in the main chapel where sacrament meeting is held.

He cured deafness, severe sickness, and chlorea on several people through this method, and the accounts are all genuine. I ask all of you do supernatural healing miracles sound like the work of a conman and a liar to you?

The definition of cult: a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader. The LDS Church is a CHURCH, A RELIGION, not a cult.

And of Brigham Young having 55 wives and fathering 56 children. FLDS probably uses Dianetics instead of The Book of Mormon but who knows! So if the prophet asked you to you could take a second wife with permission from their first. It wasn’t about Sex it was about protection. Word of Wisdom in D&C 89 suggests that we do not use wine, strong drinks, tobacco or hot drinks (like tea and coffee). Active members of the church do not use these in order to progress, which is the reason we are here on Earth. Lastly… polygamy is not practiced in the church. It was a about 150 years ago, but only so the single and widowed women would have a better chance of survival.

I know the LDS claims three separate deities. But that is not how it is defined in the Bible. The Bible says there is ONE God. I am not sure what you have been told about Christian belief in the trinity and the nicene creed but Christians do not believe in the trinity because of the nicene creed. It has nothing to do with what I believe. It may contain what I believe but it is not the basis for my belief nor is it the basis for the beliefs for any Christian I know.

However, in scriptural context good works are not combined with our faith to receive grace. Grace is a free gift. (got the Bible reference if wanted)

In my mission (which is where I obtained and read the Church Handbook of Instructions both volumes 1 and 2 counsel to Bishoprics and Stakes) we had to advice the branch presidencies and bishoprics on lots of church affairs because the members were so new and had no clue what they were doing. One of those guidelines from the brethren is that meetings held on Sunday in the chapel are not to be videotaped or recorded. That’s why you never see anyone…

Our hymn book is made up of a lot of hymns that weren’t written by mormons. Some of our hymns were written by mormons, but since we share a lot of beliefs with a lot of other religions, our hymn book is a lot like other denominations’ hymn books. Be Still My Soul is one of many hymns in our book that was not written by our own, but still expresses beautifully what we believe.

They are a set of book that tell the history of the Mormon chruch. It is in novel format, and is very informational if you let it. If you don’t like to read there is a movie on it. I have never seen the movie, but hear that it is good. The first book is, “A Pillar of Light” in the Work and the Glory series, by Gerald N. Lund.
